1. Invisalign Q: You like your teeth and would like them to be more straight by you don't want to look like a kid with braces?
A: Invisalign invisible braces may be for you. We have been trained to evaluate if you would be right for Invisalign.
2. Veneers Q: Want to close those spaces between your front teeth but don't want your good teeth "trimmed down"?
A: Thin porcelain covers bonded on the front of your teeth, called "veneers", are a conservative, beautiful alternative.
3. All Porcelain Crowns Q: You have crowns on your front teeth, or need them but you don't like that gray edge at the gum line?
A: All porcelain crowns that have no metal to give that gray look are a beautiful solution.
4. Missing Teeth Q: Have a few teeth missing and would like to replace but don't want to wear something uncomfortable or unnatural feeling?
A: Lots of alternatives are available from non-removable bridges to true tooth replacement with implants - we can help you learn about what may be best for you.
5. Lower Denture Q: Have a lower denture that just will not stay down?
A: Dental implants may be the answer.
6. Crowns Q: My dentist keeps saying I need "crowns" on a lot of my teeth. Why? Is he just looking to do something?
A: Teeth which have been used for years generally have large silver fillings in them. When they get large, metal fillings can tend to weaken the tooth, like a wedge in a piece of wood, with breakage of the tooth. If the break is bad enough, the tooth may need to be removed or have a procedure to remove the affected and dying nerve, called Root Canal Therapy. Full coverage crowns act to keep the tooth from breaking and can prevent more involved work. Since it is difficult, if not impossible to know which tooth may break, crowns are generally recommended on teeth that appear to have potential for breakage, even if they have not been painful.
7. Root Canal Q: Do all crowned teeth need to have root canals?
A: No - we recommend root canals only if symptoms are present or there is an obvious need - probably less than 10% of the time.
